Planner vs Bullet Journal

Planner vs Bullet Journal

The newest Fad I have been obsessed with is bullet journaling. Are you wondering Planner vs Bullet Journaling…..What’s the difference between a planner and a bullet journal? A planner is very organized and put together.  Also, a planner has premade pages for you.  I often find it hard to find the perfect planner for my needs. I have bought the expensive planners such as Erin Condren and the cheaper planners.  I start using the planner and always end up needing things that aren’t in the planner.

A bullet journal can be very proper and put together OR it can be a big hot mess of everything in your mind! This is why I love it. A bullet journal (aka visual journal) can match YOUR personality.  I love the fact that in a bullet journal you can be so creative. I have never just doodled but I love looking up new pages to add to my journal. I feel as though even though I do not think of myself as a creative person I can make this journal with all the creativity I want. Crazy fun marker colors help the creativity come out. There are also different types of journals. Who knew?! I personally have a blank page notebook but the best kind of bullet journaling is a dotted page to keep all your lines even.  A few of the pages that I have recently done are a Christmas countdown page, a gratitude log, and a habit tracker.

The habit tracker is one that I have been trying to accomplish every day. I love setting these simple goals for myself daily. You can write something so simple such as play with my dogs daily or clean one room a day. I also have stuff in there such as don’t hit snooze or reach 100 oz water daily. The great thing is, IT’S TOTALLY UP TO YOU!!

Now who seriously doesn’t love Christmas? Christmas is such a great time of year for family BUT it does require LOADS of planning. So there are a couple of pages I would suggest for the upcoming holidays. The first page would be a countdown page to get you in the Christmas spirit! The next would be a budget. We all get lost in the gift giving game but if you put it down on paper how much you are spending it’s probably WAY more than you wanted to. I included in mine each person we are supposed to buy for and how much we plan to spend each. Along with a total budget for Christmas. Then you need to have a doodle page!! Make some super awesome snowmen and snowflakes! Don’t forget to add a gigantic merry Christmas sign in the middle!

Anyways, the gist of this post is to help you find a creative outlet and this journal is mine. It is so beyond relaxing and it is something I truly enjoy doing on a daily basis. I also throw in some of my daily stuff like a daily checklist just so I can add some creativity to my daily life! Do it in the morning and all during the day and I can guarantee you, you will end up in a better mood than if you didn’t bullet journal!
